Family of four travels on deserved vacations in famous sea resort Augas Verdes. During their way to the destination, famous for its slow family climate, their wishes for idealistic holidays become more and more distant. Brother and sister are arguing and pinching, while mother is not sure if she locked the door of a family house. To finish a perfect day father Juan hits a car, driving from the opposite direction. This is only a beginning of a first feature film, directed by Argentinian Mariana De Rose. The film was given an award for the best first film by Argentinean National Institute for Film and Audio-visual Arts.

The story is linear. By combining different genres and reminiscences on thrillers shot in 1970' with Rohmer's shots and with accurate sound of Daniela Ibarrarta, Da Rose slowly questions family dynamics, shaken by open-minded Roberto, unexpected love of the daughter, which family meets during their first stop in gas station. Roberto follows them to the resort. Father Juan does not mind the new love, but is very often tempted by magnificent women in bikini. He always has on his heels his wife, who is accidentally a psychiatrist, following Freud and his theory on psychoanalysis.

Author is more interested in absurd situation, in which the characters live, than in moral evaluation of family members. The new hope of Argentinean films examines this situation with a little help of comic inserts and scenes, which end up in absurdity. Inspiration for this film, which is according to Neil Young fresh and brave, came from different things.

»The inspiration for the story came from many ideas and events. For instance, I had once read about a rapist on the beaches of Punta Lara, a resort close to my home town, La Plata. I was also interested in the way families and other groups function, and the way love and other feelings are distorted and shattered in the midst of crises.« (Mariano De Rosa).
