HAPPY CAMERA 2009
The participants will learn the theory and practice of making video films in a genuine film environment. After the workshop, all the participants will get acquire the knowledge of making short documentary films. Strengthened with theoretical knowledge and different authors’ views, they will see what film art is and will develop their creativity.
We will work in groups. Every group will shoot at least one film clip, the form of which will be created through the working process. They will also learn about the different aspects of filmmaking and production of documentary films (from an idea to the actual film). We will learn about the techniques of filmmaking (camera, sound, editing) and different director's/author's approaches.
The workshop will be based on the day to day conversations between tutors and participants. In that way we will be able to consolidate the knowledge and use it for future creative work.
At the end of the workshop we will watch the video films and we will discuss how they turned out in comparison to the original idea. In that process we will overview all the previous lectures, we will exchange impressions and opinions and make a summary of the work we have done.

HAPPY CAMERA 2009
Fiction has to be based on reality, truth doesn't.
Mark Twain
The aim of Happy Camera is to enable participants to explore film as a medium through practical work. The themes of this year’s festival are intergenerational and intercultural dialog. Our starting point will be to analyze and use the strongest dramatic situation – conflict.
On that premise we will do practical exercises from the first day. We will try to discover different intergenerational and intercultural conflicts, we will transform them into screenplays and then we will transform them into a short film form.
We will start with the documentary film form and all of its sub-variations, but nothing keeps us from mixing them with fiction, experimental or even animated films.
