High potential NGO

In 2016, the Otok Institute, which has operated both in Ljubljana and Izola since its establishment in 2004, obtained the status of an “NGO with potential’ and was thus included in the development programme (2016–2019 and 2019–2023) conducted by the Koper-based ISKRA – Istria and Karst NGO’s Hub with the support of the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia and the European Social Fund.

The purpose of the programme is to raise the quality of life in the region by developing NGOs and the NGO sector. The goal of the public call is to strengthen the capacities of NGOs for advocacy and the provision of public services by raising the level of their organisational and professional development and their advocacy competencies, strengthening cross-sector cooperation and establishing connections and partnerships with the purpose of solving the social challenges in the region.
