The Film Corner

“The Film Corner Clubs 2026-2028. From virtual to real” project is addressed to a broad target ranging from children aged 8 to young people aged 29 and beyond. It foresees the creation, in each participating country, of locally-based hubs (“Clubs”) responsible for implementing on-site activities aimed at engaging local audiences in film, while also contributing to a shared set of cross-national activities carried out in cooperation with consortium and associated partners.

Each Club will develop an annual programme including two types of actions: cross-national activities implemented jointly by all partners, and local activities carried out autonomously at national level. These include screenings of EU non-national arthouse films selected from the project catalogue, as well as workshops and on-site initiatives based on The Film Corner platform formats and methodologies. The use of The Film Corner platform across the involved countries represents a core cross-national methodological reference.

The Film Corner is an online interactive, user-centered platform for film education addressed to students aged 11-18, teachers, and general audiences. Its main goals are to enhance film literacy, improve film education skills among EU students, and foster audience engagement. The platform is freely accessible and currently available in IT, EN, FR, SR, SL, GE, CZ and PL.

The platform includes 4 sections (“studios”), 7 didactical paths, 15 interactive apps, and over 200 extracts from classic and contemporary EU and non-EU films.

Developed since 2016 by Fondazione Cineteca Italiana within the framework of “The Film Corner” project, the platform has been created in collaboration with partners including the University of Galway, University of Milano-Bicocca, Kino Otok, CinemaClub, National Film Museum, and Palatine association, and is co-financed by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Commission.
